Ziton Purchasing Second Vessel for Extended Strategic Agreement with Siemens Gamesa
Last week ZITON and Siemens Gamesa have signed strategic agreements extending the current charter of WIND ENTERPRISE and adding a new charter for the sister vessel. Ziton are purchasing the second vessel which is expected to be operational in the beginning of 2024.
“With the tremendous forecasted growth of the offshore wind market, it was important to secure long-term jack-up vessel capacity to support our growing service business and new opportunities for aftermarket solutions. Siemens Gamesa is proud to be the lifetime service partner for our customers by delivering safe and efficient maintenance operations,” says René Cornelis Wigmans, Global Head of Offshore Service Logistics at Siemens Gamesa.
The long-term charter agreements reaching until the end of 2029 for both vessels underline the successful cooperation between the parties and the commitment to secure new assets for a growing industry. ZITON is humbled by the trust and grateful for the support allowing us to add another asset to the fleet. They see this as an acknowledgement of their unrelenting strategic focus on major component exchanges. Both parties are committed to continuing the partnership and being the leading suppliers of offshore O&M.
ZITON will take over the new vessel as soon as possible and bring it back to Europe where she will undergo significant upgrades.
