Wasel’s New Goldhofer 8 Axel Flatbed Low-Loader Delivers their New Liebherr LRT 1100-2.1
WASEL takes delivery of brand new GOLDHOFER gooseneck with 8-axle lines (3+5) and additional equipment of the THP-SL-L series.
Two WASEL heavy haulage drivers visited GOLDHOFER AG in Memmingen mid-month to attend a training course for new axle modules, which were to be taken over immediately afterwards. The axle lines and the additional equipment complement the heavy transport equipment already part of the WASEL fleet.
According to the manufacturer, the axle modules perfectly combine empty weight and bending moment and are thus optimized for road use with limited axle loads. For higher torsional rigidity and maximum health and safety, the loading areas of the modules are largely closed. The additional equipment acquired is a 9m flatbed bridge with an intermediate table, allowing extension to 12m, and a further 3m intermediate bridge to extend the loading area in plateau style.
The truck’s maiden voyage took it from Memmingen to LIEBHERR in nearby Ehingen. There, the first of three new 100-tonner all-terrain cranes of the type LRT 1100-2.1 was to be loaded. After successful loading, the new WASEL mobile crane was transported directly to its future location, at a major customer in the Rhenish mining area.
