Wasel’s 500t Liebherr Crane Deployed for Gelsenkirchen Nordschleuse Lock Gate Lift

“The operation at the north lock in Gelsenkirchen was part of the first reconstruction phase for the restoration of the double sluice here on the Rhine-Herne Canal,” explains Ralf Keller, technical sales representative.

Wasel’s Liebherr LTM1500 lifted the two-part sluice gates weighing about 45t. The whole operation was completed in 3 days.

The second renovation operation, on the southern lock is planned for completion later in September.
