Wasel Selects 26 New Liebherr Cranes with Improved Environmental Footprint
WASEL has launched an investment programme and ordered 26 new cranes for 2023. Powerful, innovative and low-emission are the attributes of the latest generation of WASEL mobile cranes.
The range of new acquisitions for the WASEL crane fleet extends across all performance classes, from the compact LTM 1030-2.1 to the stately LTM 1750-9.1.
In addition to further technical development for more performance efficiency and safety, the focus is above all on improving the environmental footprint for the new generation of mobile cranes. Here, the newly developed LIEBHERR engine technology ensures a further minimisation of CO2 emissions.
HVO fuels (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oils) are synthetic fuels made from hydrogenated vegetable oils (not to be confused with biodiesel) and can make an important contribution to limiting global greenhouse gas emissions. Unlike diesel, HVO has a lower density, which contributes to lower exhaust emissions..
Further advantages of this fuel are
- No conversion necessary
- Good compatibility with all engine components
- The synthetic fuel HVO can be mixed in any ratio with fossil diesel and used in conventional combustion engines.
Advantages of the LTC 1050-3.1 E:
- CO2 emission-free in crane operation with electric motor
- Noise emissions significantly reduced in crane operation with electric motor
- Comparable performance, whether with electric motor or combustion engine
- Maximum flexibility due to simple change between diesel-hydraulic or electro-hydraulic drive
The LTM 1300-6.3 sets a new world record: A mobile crane with a 90m telescopic boom, carried as one on public roads at an axle load of 12 tonnes! A versatile and economical fast-erecting crane with unrivalled telescopic boom length.
WASEL is also reinvesting in large crane technology. In 2023, for example, another 1000t crawler crane (LR 11000) and a 700t crawler crane (LR 1700) will be added to reliably meet demand in the wind power, industrial and public infrastructure sectors, not least against the background of the energy transition.
