Wagenborg Delivers Port Crane to Tata Steel in IJmuiden – Video
Last weekend, the Wagenborg Barge 7 arrived in IJmuiden under tow from the tugboats “Waterman” and “En Avant 30”.
A 1,950-tonne crane to be delivered to Tata Steel in IJmuiden had been loaded on to the barge in Poland. After the sea fastenings had been completed barge departed under tow from the Wagenborg tug “Waterman”.
The measurements of crane are 62m high, 108m long and 32m wide.
Due to bad weather the the barge and tug sheltered in the Danish port of Frederikshavn which delayed arrival in IJmuiden by several days. The AHT tug “En Avant 30” from the fleet of Muller Dordrecht was added to the tow
After the necessary preparations have been made, the 1,950-tonne crane will be placed at the head of the port quay in the coming days, next to the current cranes. When unloaded the crane will be installed and is expected to be fully operational after two months.
