Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company Operating 24/7 for Container Check In / Out

Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (“VSC”, part of the Global Ports Group) has now introduced 24/7 acceptance and issue of containers arriving and departing by trucks, extending its previous service from 08:00 to 20:00h. VSC’s Service Centre has also moved to round-the-clock operations.

Extending truck handling operating hours is part of VSC’s strategy to improve the quality of service for customers, by allowing forwarders and carriers more flexibility when planning operations at the terminal and further logistics.

In addition, introducing a night service for vehicles at VSC will reduce the number of container trucks on the “Vladivostok – Port Vostochny” highway in the daytime, an important decision that will help relieve road congestion.

Ilya Dolgiy, acting Managing Director of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company, said: “Our decision to focus on increasing the amount of cargo arriving and departing by road will have many benefits – for our customers, our operations and the surrounding area. It will help relieve the peak load from the railway, increase the speed of cargo handling and reduce customer dwell time at the terminal. A new highway overpass to the terminal is also scheduled to be commissioned in 2021. The launch will allow trucks to enter the terminal bypassing the railway crossing, reducing wait time and therefore speeding up the service.”
