Video: Relocating harbor cranes in one-piece
15 June 2018
Every day, ships from all over the world unload thousands of tons of goods at Spanish ports operated by maritime terminals operator Noatum. Efficiency is key to Noatum’s business model. That means they needed to have the right cranes in place at every port to load and unload the different kinds of cargo.
However, moving these cranes between ports is a massive challenge. It requires the crane to be dismantled, transported by road and reassembled at a different port. This is a time consuming and costly process. But what if they could be moved in one piece and transported by sea? Actanis, a company specialized in complex logistics services which belongs to Noatum, went in search of a partner who could find the most efficient solution for transporting these huge structures between different ports.
