End of 2017 the Board of Commissioners of the Virginia Port Authority approved the award of contracts to Konecranes for 86 Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC).
Of these cranes, 60 are due for Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) and the other 26 are destined for Virginia International Gateway (VIG).
From beginning of 2018 to April 2020 BigLift’s Happy Buccaneer is scheduled to deliver six or seven cranes every six weeks from Gdynia in Poland to Virginia. Happy Buccaneer can accommodate seven cranes on her deck in one go.
