Video: 3D Knit with Dyneema® in 'Isoropia' at Venice Architecture Biennale 2018
1 June 2018
A 3D knit with Dyneema®, for the first time ever in large-scale architecture. The 3D Knit with Dyneema® plays an important role in Denmark’s official submission for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018 – the largest architecture event in the world.
The project ‘Isoropia’ by CITA of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts shows how ‘architextiles’ can create constructions that are both solid as well as able to change in expression and form.
Dyneema® fiber is 3D-knitted into a textile skin that is given structure when counterbalanced with bending rods. This represents new shaping for lightweight, flexible and environmentally resistant structures.
The Venice Architecture Biennale 2018 runs from Saturday 26 May to 25 November.
