Van Oord’s Aeolus Returns to Saint Brieuc OWF After Crane Upgrade

Van Oord’s freshly upgraded offshore installation vessel Aeolus navigated back to Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm off the north coast of Brittany, France. After a conversion period at Damen Verolme and an outfitting period in Vlissingen, Aeolus sports a new and improved 133m long crane boom designed by Huisman.

Van Oord invests, to keep the Aeolus competitive in a rapidly changing market where wind turbines continue to increase in power and thus size.
