Van Oord Signs IRBC Agreement for Renewable Energy Sector
Van Oord has become the first marine contractor to join the IRBC Agreement for the Renewable Energy Sector. The aim of the agreement is to promote International Responsible Business Conduct (IRBC) in the renewable energy sector. This is accomplished by jointly identifying and addressing human rights and environmental risks in the value chain!
“The demand for energy is growing and a renewable energy system is essential for providing the energy needed for the future,” says Karen Vennik, the commercial director at Van Oord.
“As an international community and also as an international marine contractor we are at the beginning of the energy transition. We are eager to contribute to this. Carrying out our projects in a responsible and transparent way is not only the right way, but also the way to do business in the future. Working together in this agreement gives us the opportunity to learn and improve, and share our expertise and best practices with other partners.”
Signing the covenant is in line with Van Oord’s sustainability ambitions. Together, they can create new solutions that contribute to a better world for future generations.
