Van Oord in Dutch Pavilion Top Spot at Expo 2020 Dubai

Van Oord is the first National Partner of the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. Netherlands Consul General and Commissioner General to Expo 2020 Dubai Hans Sandee and Van Oord’s Area Manager Koen Sweers signed an agreement yesterday sealing the partnership for the Dutch Pavilion at the next World Expo.

The signing ceremony was held during a visit by Dutch companies participating in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) to the Dubai Harbour Masterplan project site. Spanning 185 hectares of land and featuring cruise terminals and berths for 1,400 boats, the Dubai Harbour Masterplan will help Dubai to achieve its aim of welcoming 20 million tourists in 2020. Van Oord will soon be completing its work on this iconic waterfront project.

Van Oord has been involved in some iconic waterfront and infrastructure projects in the Middle East over the past 40 years, and specifically in Dubai. It will play an active role in various programme components for the Dutch Pavilion at Expo 2020, inviting clients and partners from all over the world to visit the Dutch Pavilion throughout the six months of the Expo, especially during theme weeks and on the Netherlands’ national day. This edition of the World Expo will take place between October 2020 and April 2021.
