Van Hattum en Blankevoort realises Dutch viaduct replacement project within just one week

Van Hattum en Blankevoort successfully managed to demolish and place a new viaduct in just one week. The activities took place in Cadier en Keer, in the Dutch province of Limburg.

The old viaduct in the Fommestraat in Cadier en Keer was 100 years old and at the end of its technical lifespan. Van Hattum en Blankevoort was asked by the Province of Limburg to complete the project within one week.

The new viaduct has been designed largely in prefabricated concrete parts. From Monday, June 17 to Sunday, June 23, the company demolished the old viaduct and build the new viaduct. The activities took place 24/7 and required good preparation, planning and cooperation, and around 100 persons, in order to be completed within one week.

The viaduct was reopened immediately. The final work will be completed in the coming days. The new viaduct will be called ‘Tremke, named after the tram that used to run under it. Source: Van Hattum en Blankevoort
