Van der Vlist on Windpark Wieringermeer Transport

Van der Vlist has been involved with the Wieringermeer Project in The Netherlands, and will undertake the transport of 50 complete windmills before the end of the year.

Once completed, the windfarm will have a total of 99 windmills, supplying 370,000 households with electricity. These impressive figures make it the biggest windfarm in the Dutch countryside.
The tower sections will be transported by road from East Germany to Wieringermeer.

The blades, will be transported by ship to the Van der Vlist Terminal in Moerdijk where they will then be re-loaded onto trailers for the final leg of the journey with a total transport length of about 68 meters.

Utilising knowledge and assets from across the group, Van der Vlist successfully coordinates the multimodal transport, involving transport by road, handling and storage.

HeavyLiftNews reported here on the hybrid wind powered vessel, E-SHIP 1 that was involved in the transport of blades to Van der Vlist Moerdijk.
