UK Logistics Director Wins Global Young Freight Forwarder Award

UK Logistics Director Wins Global Young Freight Forwarder Award

The director of a UK logistics firm has been named Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year.

Louis Perrin, director of Hemisphere Freight Services, beat three other regional finalists to the award, which was presented at the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations’ (FIATA) World Congress in New Delhi on Friday 28th September. The event was attended by over 1,000 logistics professionals from around the world.

Earlier this year, Perrin was named Young Freight Forwarder of the Year by the British International Freight Association (BIFA), giving him the opportunity to compete for the Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year award.

As part of the award entry, Louis produced a 6,000-word dissertation detailing an import and export project shipment managed by Hemisphere. Selected by FIATA as the regional finalist for Europe, Louis had to present his dissertation to a panel of judges at the World Congress, where he ultimately emerged victorious.

Louis’ prize for winning includes two weeks of training with award sponsor TT Club, a specialist insurance provider for the freight industry, which has headquarters in London, New York and Hong Kong.

Commenting on his win, Louis said: “I’m overwhelmed to win this award – the competition was challenging, and so much hard work went into it. The other candidates were extremely talented logistics professionals, so to be announced as the winner is an achievement I’m incredibly proud of.

“While it’s great for me on a personal level, it’s also very humbling to see Hemisphere being recognised on the global stage. This award is for our brilliant team as much as it is for me. I’d also like to thank FIATA for putting on a fantastic event. I enjoyed meeting so many freight professionals from around the world, including my fellow finalists.”
