Two Railway Bridges Transported and Installed by Mammoet in Germany

In April this year, Mammoet successfully transported and installed the first of two railway overpasses at the Herne highway junction in Germany on behalf of MCE GMBH. The second one followed in August.

Using SPMTs, a special transport frame and other custom equipment, the arched bridges were safely transported from the cramped pre-assembly area next to the highway to the installation position.

A specific SPMT configuration helped avoid extra work removing the central guardrails and securing the embankment.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation of all parties involved, the A42, one of the most important motorways in Western Germany, was reopened to traffic on time.
