Tower cranes used for development work in Oman
Date 17 August 2018
Al Akkad National Projects uses two Raimondi MRT111 topless tower cranes for a new mixed-use development in Muscat, Oman.
“The two MRT111s were originally purchased in 2014 and have served Al Akkad extremely well across multiple Gulf worksites over the past four years. To meet this new development’s work height requirements, Al Akkad purchased new additional sections for the cranes,” said Wael Hasan, Middle East commercial manager at Raimondi Cranes.
The MRT111s, with freestanding heights of 41.55 metres and 47.25 metres including embedded elements, are both fitted with 60 metres jibs.
Due to the congested project site – creating constraints on where the mobile crane could be positioned – Raimondi and Al Akked carefully strategised the erections as part of the site planning procedures. Installed over a period of three days, the cranes are expected to be in use for approximately 18 to 20 months.
