The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Volunteers and Contractors Install New 50t Bridge

On a monumental day after work in the first two weeks of September completing the preparation for the installation of the new bridge span, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway volunteers and contractors have landed the new 50t bridge across the Bridgehouse Beck.

After lifting rail sections and piling operations had been completed with lifts by the 10-ton Grafton Permanent Way Crane the new bridge span was lifted into place by a modern Ainscough mobile crane

This has been the biggest civil engineering project the railway has ever undertaken.
