Svanen in Rotterdam During World Port Days

Rotterdam will be the setting for the World Port Days on 7, 8 and 9 September. A large public event to which Van Oord welcomes everyone. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Van Oord with those attending the World Port Days, the imposing heavy lift vessel Svanen will be joining us.

This eye-catcher of our offshore wind fleet will be moored near the Van Oord pavilion along the Parkkade. Visitors will be given a unique insight into the world of Marine ingenuity and offshore wind. The ship is also equipped with the innovative Blue Hammer from Fistuca. This smart hammer uses a water tank, instead of a steel pile driver, to drive monopiles more powerfully into the seabed. Moreover, this method of pile driving causes less noise pollution under water.

Not only can you board the Svanen, the Van Oord pavilion will also be offering sufficient attractions.
