Stoddart Crane Hire on St Kilda 60 miles Offshore in the Atlantic Ocean
Stoddart Crane Hire were proud to playing a massive part in a successful, complex and challenging project on a remote volcanic island in the Atlantic Ocean 60 miles off the coast of the Outer Hebrides. The project was to install a vital surveillance radar utilising their Terex Cranes AC35 under a contract lift.
Making the challenge even more formidable and potentially sensitive was the fact is a double-badged UNESCO World Heritage site for flora and fauna and where any work would have to tread lightly to not disturb the non-human residents.
Access to the island is only achieved by helicopter (20 mins flight), boat (three hours) or landing craft (10 hours).
Team work is the key to projects like this and a massive well done to everyone involved for completing this years work on St Kilda on time.
