Slug catchers sail to Saudi Arabia
May 17 – Coordinadora has loaded two slug catchers, weighing 2,000 tonnes each, on board CY Shipping’s deck carrier CY Interocean II, at the port of Gijón, Spain.
For the ocean transport to Jubail, Saudi Arabia, Coordinadora designed a seafastening system consisting of transverse bracings and longitudinal lashings to secure the cargo.
A special grillage system, also designed and manufactured by Coordinadora, was also used to spread the high loads on the oceangoing vessel. SOURCE: HLPFI
