Seaway Alfa Lift – Plans Confirmed

Subsea 7’s Second Quarter 2023 statement reports that their Seaway Alfa Lift departed the yard in China in June after the successful crane and marine system commissioning and that the vessel will transit to a European yard by late August.

The vessel is planned to be deployed on transition piece installation on Dogger Bank A&B and C from 2023 to 2025, while monopile installation will continue throughout the period with Seaway Strashnov. This revised plan is being developed with their client and, although subject to final approvals, provides confidence in their financial estimates for the project

In a statement to HeavyLiftNews.com Seaway have confirmed that “Seaway Alfa Lift is currently in transit to Europe and will join the fleet in Q3 2023”. The vessel is currently transiting the Indian Ocean.

 

The Seaway Alfa Lift features a 3,000t main crane, a 10,000+ m² ‘smart deck, capable of carrying and installing up to 14 XL monopiles per voyage.   The vessel is a 51,000 dwt semi-submersible installation vessel designed by Ulstein, and will be able to fully submerge the main deck to a depth of 14.66m. Free Deck Length: 148.4 m Free Deck Area: 8,310 m² main deck + 1,800 m² forecastle.  Accommodation: 100 people.
