Scaldis’ HLV Gulliver Lifts 2,200t Arcadis Ost Substation Topside

Only 80 days after the successful cooperation at the Kaskasi offshore wind farm, Scaldis has once again installed a topside for an offshore wind farm for Bladt Industries.

This time, the Arcadis Ost offshore substation was installed by HLV ‘Gulliver’, approximately 10 nautical miles off the north-east coast of the island of Rügen in the German sector of the Baltic Sea.

This 2,200t topside was one of the heaviest offshore lifts in Scaldis’ history, but proved no challenge for the 4,000t Heavy Lift Vessel and experienced crew!

The lift was executed with a single lifting beam and Dyneema slings attached to the topside’s lifting points.

This installation adds to the longstanding track record and collaboration between Scaldis and Bladt and confirms Scaldis’ position as a leading heavy lift contractor in the Offshore Wind sector.
