
Sarens plucks Makzume in Turkey

Sarens has formed a joint venture with LAM – Lyonel A. Makzume Shipping Agencies (Makzume) to expand its operations in Turkey and neighbouring countries.
The Belgian-based company points to Turkey’s development as the hub of the surrounding regions, owing to its strategic geographic and geopolitical position, and says it expects the market to grow especially in the energy and communications sectors.The joint venture with Makzume will, according to Sarens, allow it to tap into the market.
Executive board member of Makzume, Selim Makzume, explained that the joint venture – Sarens Makzume – will provide heavy lifting and specialised transport solutions to the industrial project industry in the region.
“The joint venture will bring an experienced group to our region, at a time when the region’s energy and communications infrastructure is developing rapidly” added Makzume.
Based in Istanbul, Sarens Makzume will provide cranes, SPMTs and barges for the rental market and for special projects.
It will serve industries in Romania, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Lebanon and Libya.www.sarens.comwww.lam.com.tr SOURCE: HLPFI
