Sarens Contracted on Construction Site for Offshore Wind Monopile Factory
Structural steel construction experts Severfield UK have contracted Sarens to provide crawler and all-terrain cranes for a 12-month rental period at the SeAH wind monopile facility in the UK.
The new monopile factory, is being built for the South Korean SeAH Group in Redcar’s Teesworks industrial zone in Teesside, in North Easf England. When completed the factory is poised to create more jobs and boost the local economy.
Sarens have provided the following rental equipment for the project:
- 7 LTR 1100 telescopic crawler cranes
- 7 LR 1130 crawler cranes
- 1 LR 1350 hydraulic crawler crane
- 2 LTM 1650 all-terrain crane
- 1 LTM 1750 all-terrain crane
- 1 CC 2800 crawler crane
- SPMTs
The equipment was delivered by road transport over the course of 1-2 weeks. It took another 1-2 days to rig each crane depending on its configurations. The rented cranes will remain onsite for a full year, constructing steelwork and overhead gantries. Because of the more complex nature of some lifts, selecting the proper equipment, placement, and configuration has been vital to ensuring adequate boom clearance and ultimately, successful installations.
Sarens is proud to support this pivotal initiative by providing several cranes, and was selected specifically for their competitive offer, deep industry knowledge, and equipment size and capacity.
