Sarens at work on Eglinton Crosstown LRT in Toronto

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is a midtown connection between east and west Toronto with 25 stations.

Sarens was brought in to perform heavy lift operations for the construction of the LRT in Toronto, Canada, by Crosslinx. They have been on-site since 2016 and will continue the heavy lift operations until the end of 2023.

Sarens has deployed equipment ranging from 28t boom trucks to 620t all-terrain cranes for the project. The equipment was moved from Sarens’ branch in Alberta and Europe.

The Country Manager for Canada, Lee Rowe remarks, “Sarens is proud to be associated with the Toronto metro project. Our teams have been safely and successfully executing the lifts in the middle of the busy city of Toronto with limited space. At the sites with tunnels the ground conditions were challenging and the equipment deployed was adjusted to ensure safety.” He adds, “We are very proud of our team on-site for working safely in extreme weather conditions and ensuring we meet all client timelines.”
