Roll Group with Russell Marine Replace Rail Bridge in Texas – Video

Last month Roll Group, with Russell Marine, removed sections of a Union Pacific Railroad bridge across the Trinity River in Liberty, Texas and replaced them with a single new section.

First and  Second Old Bridge Section removed :

  • Length     114 feet         (34.75m)
  • Width      19.5 feet      (5.9m)
  • Height       36 feet         (10.97m)
  • Total weight   297USt  (269.43 tonne)

New Bridge Section placed:

  • Length     151 feet          (46m)
  • Width        22 feet          (6.7m)
  • Height       12.6 feet       (3.84m)
  • Total weight   338USt  (306.63 tonne)

One of the biggest challenges with this project was the 24-hour execution window. Roll Group completed it in 17 hours with ZERO incidents! This allowed the trains to continue running on schedule.

Roll Group offer a big thank you to Russell Marine LLC and Union Pacific Railroad for this opportunity for their experienced commercial team, expert engineers, and amazing operations team to demonstrate this commitment when they safely and efficiently executed phase 1 of the Liberty bridge replacement. A third section is to be removed in the future.
