On Wednesday 13 February the crane vessel Gulliver left its moorings at Hanoytangen bound for the salvage location to become familiarized with the conditions. The vessel returned to Hanoytangen on Thursday afternoon.
The weather forecast indicates strong winds on Sunday and Monday but high pressure is due to build over Germany thereafter which could provide stable conditions at the salvage location.
All necessary preparations are in place and the Helge Ingstad is ready to be lifted given the right stable weather window of 5 to 6 days.
