Port of Seville Sees Some Offshore Wind Action

The Navantia-Windar consortium has loaded and shipped out four pinpiles built for the East Anglia One wind farm from the Port of Seville in Spain.
GRI Towers Sevilla loaded the four pinpiles onto the general cargo vessel Palabora at the Armamento dock earlier this month.
The 714MW East Anglia One is being developed by Iberdrola some 43 kilometres off the Suffolk coast, UK. The wind farm will comprise 102 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines installed on jacket foundations.
Navantia-Windar will manufacture and deliver 42 jackets and 126 pinpiles for the project. The majority of work is being executed at the Navantia facility in Fene, with the pinpiles being constructed by Windar at its facilities in Avilés.
The consortium handed over the first jackets in early March. Navantia will also build the wind farm’s offshore substation.
The remaining 60 foundations are being manufactured and delivered by Lamprell from the company’s Jebel Ali and Sharjah yards in the UAE.
East Anglia One is scheduled for commissioning in 2020. SOURCE: OW
