OXBO Moving Equipment with Goldhofer SPMTs in Texas
OXBO Mega Transport Solutions boasts a comprehensive fleet of hydraulic platform trailers, specifically designed for the transportation of substantial, building-sized objects.
These self-propelled modular transporters, SPMTs, excel in moving oversized items, including large bridge segments, oil refining equipment, cranes, motors, and spacecraft, which are too cumbersome for conventional trucking solutions.
The modular design of these trailers facilitates an array of configurations, enabling the addition of axles, known as lines, to adjust both the length and width as required.
Moreover, the interconnected SPMTs can be efficiently managed from a single control panel, ensuring streamlined operations and enhanced manoeuvrability.
On this project several pieces of equipment were shuffled from the Port of Brownsville, TX to a nearby storage facility where they will be staged on stands and beams for an estimated 4 to 12 months.
This equipment included a Recti Box measuring:
- Length 135′ 10” (41.4m)
- Width 12′ 6” (3.8m)
- Weight 244,712 lbs (111t)
A Heat Exchanger measuring:
- Length 46′ 4” (14.22m)
- Width 17′ 4” (5.28m)
- Height 11′ 11” (3.63m)
- Weight 152,119 lbs (69t)
A Gas Piping Skid measuring:
- Length 57’ 9” (17.6m)
- Width 17′ 2” (5.23m)
- Height 12′ 9” (3.89m)
- Weight 112,435 lbs (51t)
and 2 LOX Tanks measuring:
- Length 113′ 5” (34.56m)
- Width 14′ 3” (4.35m)
- Height 15′ 5” (4.7m)
- Weight 240,127 lbs (109t)
OXBO utilized (2) 6-line Goldhofer THP/SL bolstered trailers with two prime movers to efficiently transport the pieces. OXBO also supplied all the necessary staging equipment to store each piece safely and securely for their customer.
