Otto Rettenmaier, Founder of the TII Group, Dies

It has been announced on Saturday 25 July that Otto Rettenmaier, the founder of the TII group died on 23 July .

When he took over SCHEUERLE in 1988, Otto Rettenmaier, already an experienced entrepreneur, had recognised the potential of SCHEUERLE and was fascinated by the company’s technical abilities. This move laid the foundations of the Transporter Industry International Group (TII Group).

With the further takeovers of NICOLAS, Auxerre/France (1995) and KAMAG, Ulm (2004) – and the Indian subsidiary TII India, founded in 1995 – he developed his heavy-duty transporter division into the world market leader in its segment for heavy-duty vehicles with a payload of over 100 tonnes. Otto Rettenmaier put the group of companies on a solid foundation with special vehicles for industrial applications, heavy-duty trailers for the road and vehicles for logistics applications. Many records were set with vehicles from the TII Group. The current world record is 17,500 tons transport weight.
