
Ørsted Kicks Off with Borssele 1 & 2 Construction
Ørsted has started constructing its first offshore wind farm in the Netherlands by installing the first foundations at the 752MW Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm.

Further to our article about Ørsted and Sif today here are more details of the contracts awarded today concerning the companies that Ørsted has chosen to supply the monopiles and transition pieces for Borssele I-II offshore wind farm.
Sif and EEW SPC both supply half of the 94 monopiles for the Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines.
Bladt Industries and EEW OSB will each provide 35 transition pieces.
The EEW OSB part will be supplied from the fabrication yard on the River Tees in the North East of the UK. The Offshore Structures Britain (OSB) yard was set up by Bladt Industries and EEW SPC in 2011. EEW SPC acquired the Bladt shares in 2014.
The remaining 24 transition pieces will be contracted later this year
