DEME announced yesterday that the 2,000 tonne deckhouse has been successfully lifted and installed on their giant offshore installation vessel ‘Orion’.
This is a major milestone in the construction of the next generation DP3 vessel, which will be capable of transporting and installing the most powerful offshore wind turbines with its unrivalled crane capacity of 5,000 tonne, provided by the 5,000 tonne Liebherr HLC 295000.
The keel was laid in March at the COSCO yard and the official launching ceremoney is set for 21 November.
