Offshore Wind Farm Jackets Moved on Cometto SPMTs
Fagioli was contracted by Navantia, for the transport and load out operations of several jackets executed in Northern Spain.
The jackets are for a new offshore wind farm to be built in France.
A frame was constructed to transport upper and lower sections weighing 600t each and the complete jacket weighing 1,200t
The tailor-made structure weighing 480t was designed and assembled in order to move the lower and upper parts of the jackets, so that they could be joined together and prepared by the client for the load out operation that will take place in early 2022.
The load out was completed on 56 axle lines of Cometto SPMTs with a capacity of 48 tons per axle line. The self-propelled modular transporters are divided in an open compound with two convoy lanes of 28 axle lines, propelled by two 368 kW Power Pack Units. The total payload capacity of the Cometto SPMT configuration eas 2,500 tons.
