Nine Restored Wind Turbines Loaded By Blue Water in Port Esbjerg
Blue Water managed the loading in early February of nine restored wind turbines at Port Esbjerg. The cargo was shipped to Bari in Italy by sea on the SAL Heavy Lift vessel Annegret.
The wind turbines have been restored and are now ready to be reused and operated in Italy. At Port Esbjerg, the stevedore team from Blue Water and the customer were responsible for preparing the goods, bringing them to the quay side and loading the ship. Blue Water also acted agents for the vessel.
The restored wind turbines have a blade diameter of 80 meters. Under optimal wind conditions, the wind turbine is able to produce around 4,380 MWh annually.
“Our people have absolutely delivered what was expected. They did a punctual job with great focus on safety, and the coordination between the terminals, agency and the stevedores has been flawless”, says Jacob Sund Thomsen, Manager Projects Port Services, Blue Water Esbjerg.
