New CEO, Annual Report 2023 and Supervisory Board Changes Announced at Van Oord AGM
The General Meeting of Shareholders of Van Oord N.V. was held on 11 April 2024. During this meeting, Govert van Oord officially assumed responsibility as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Van Oord, adjustments were made to the composition of the Supervisory Board and the Annual Report 2023 was presented.
The Annual Financial Statements were adopted and the shareholders granted discharge to both the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board for their stewardship throughout the year.
2023 proved to be an extremely busy year for Van Oord. They concluded 2023 with strong results with the revenue reaching a record high and profits more than doubling. The Annual Report 2023 provides a comprehensive overview of these results.
In the report, Van Oord also reflects on a significant repositioning, which involved the consolidation of 4 separate business units – Dredging, Netherlands, Offshore Wind and Offshore – into the 2 robust business units Dredging & Infra and Offshore Energy. Van Oord witnessed a clear market recovery, driven by climate adaptation, the energy transition and corresponding need for marine infrastructure.
In changes to the Supervisory board Mr Oosterveer and Ms Fentener van Vlissingen were appointed as new members. Ms Fentener van Vlissingen succeeds Ms Insinger, who stepped down from the Supervisory Board. Appreciation was extended to Ms Insinger for her commitment and contributions to the company.
The composition of the Supervisory Board is now as follows: Mr Hoek (Chair), Ms Fentener van Vlissingen, and Messrs Kretzers, Laurent Josi, Oosterveer, Sevinga, Valkier, and Verheul.
