Modulift Prepare Mod 1100t /2000t Modular Spreader Beam for Belgian Client

Modulift recently completed the testing of another Mod 1100t /2000t Modular Spreader Beam which this time has been ordered by a Belgian client for Offshore Monopile installations, the Mod 1100 /2000 is presently the largest supplied standard beam in the Modulift range and comes complete with DNV GL type approval as standard.

The 30m long beam was fitted with some optional extras that included upper shackle supports to protect the synthetic top slings when resting and two 45t tugger points on each end, the Pewag PLDW 45t tugger points were supplied by Prolift UK.

The main beam testing was carried out in Modulift’s recently upgraded 2200t x 30m compression test rig and was 3rd party witnessed by the client and DNV GL.

The two drop links were tested in Modulift’s newly built 1500t tensile test rig.

The whole operation was successfully executed over three days with individual tests carried out at 19m, 20m and 30m spans.
