Mobile Harbour Crane Tow by Wagenborg at Sea to Rotterdam

Wagenborg has successfully transported a mobile harbour crane from Veendam to Rotterdam, deploying several tugs and a pontoon.

On Monday 28th October, the mobile harbor crane was loaded at a terminal in Veendam by means of the floating crane ‘Triton’.

With a maximum lifting capacity of 300 tonnes, this floating crane lifted the mobile harbor crane on the pontoon ‘Wagenborg Barge 14’. The pontoon, measuring 65 meters in length and 11,40 in width, has a maximum cargo capacity of 1.700 tonnes.

After loading and securing the mobile harbor crane and deballasting the pontoon, the tugs ‘Waterpoort’ and ‘Waterlelie’ towed the transport to the port of Delfzijl over inland waters. Under agency of Wagenborg, the transport arrived and moored safely at the Wagenborg terminal Tuesday 29th October.

At daylight, the pontoon left Delfzijl for Rotterdam towed by the seagoing tugs ‘Watergeus’ and ‘Waterpoort’. After a smooth voyage, the transport arrived and moored safely in Rotterdam under agency of Wagenborg.
