MJ van Riel’s new SPMTs Deliver a 334t Transformer to RWE-Claus power plant – Gallery
On Friday, 13-09-2024, MJ van Riel started a new project, a project that would make good use of their recently purchased new SPMTs.
With the 334t transformer safely lifted by a floating sheerleg crane on to the new SPMTS and the SPMTs safely loaded on to the Van der Wees barge, Lastdrager 28, the heavy lift combination was safely delivered over the Maas river to the RWE-Claus power plant in Maasbracht.
On the following Wednesday morning the specially constructed a ro-ro ramp enabled the new SPMTs to drive off the pontoon with the transformer onto a track, specially prepared with steel plates and timber mats to the road to the power plant.
In the same evening the transformer arrived safely at the RWE-Claus power plant, close to its final destination.
On Thursday morning the transformer was jacked up and rested on to a temporary foundation.
The preparation and installation of the transformer will continue.
The purchase of these SPMTs has broaden the horizons of the projects that M.J. van Riel can now safely complete.
