Maximum Team Removes Cooling System in Village Supermarket Renovation Project

The REWE Geoup village supermarket in Mihla in the Wartburgkreis, central Germany is being thoroughly renovated. A project which includes the replacement of the refrigeration equipment.

This equipment supplies all the refrigerated shelves, freezers and refrigerated counters in the supermarket with the necessary freshness. But first the old GFZ George KG refrigeration system had to be lifted out from a hard-to-reach location behind the building.

For this purpose, the Maximum team from Eisenach was in action with their four axle Grove mobile crane with a 51m boom and additional ballast to remove the old refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The Maximum team attached the 600kg air conditioning system to four thick sling chains, and then floated it in a large arc over the supermarket with a hook height of 25m and a radius of 33m.

The old equipment is now being scrapped and partly recycled.

In October the Maximum team will be back again to install the new refrigeration units in October. The modernized supermarket plans to reopen in mid-November.
