MAXIKraft’s New Liebherr LR 11000 Crawler Crane
Recently MAXIKraft were working in the middle of the German Ruhr steel production area at Thyssenkrupp in Duisburg. They were assisting colleagues from WASEL Schwerlastlogistik GmbH with MAXIKraft’s new Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane on only its second project. More than 30 trucks were needed to deliver the huge crane components from a wind project in Southern Brandenburg over 600kms away.
The new project involved moving a 40m long 200t girder crane for transporting white hot molten steel at the steel casting plant in Duisburg-Beeckerwerth am Rhein.
SPMTs were used to transport the girder from the pre-assembly site to where the LR 11000 was waiting.
Four large shackles connected to the crane were attached to the girder and the 102m high crane carefully lifted the huge load 68m and set it down on its new position.
Thick excavator mats were placed on track the for better load distribution increasing safety.
It was a truly great adventure for the team from #MAXIKraft – and they passed it very well! The 600kms journey was certainly worthwhile.
