MAXIKraft Group Arrive to Install Airco Units in Leipzig … Part One – Video
Part 1 – A large crane on a narrow road.
The UniversitätsklinikumLeipzig, Leipzig University Clinic, needed a new cooling system for their operating wing, recooling units weighing several tons had to be lifted onto the roof.
The crane professionals from MAXIKraft were brought in to help their client, IrbisKälte-undKlimatechnik GmbH.
But they couldn’t just arrive in front of the emergency room on Paul-List Street and disrupt medical operations, they needed a crane with a long boom length.
So the MAXIKraft Leipziger team called on colleagues from KranlogistikSachsen in Dresden for support with their 400t mobile crane, the Liebherr LTM1400-7.1, with a 77m long luffing jib and full ballast.
A telescopic crane with a luffing jib can’t just arrive and get started. It took almost a full working day just to pre-assemble the large crane in the narrow access road. The space in the narrow residential street was quite cramped, despite a 100m long road closure, especially since they had to drive up with a total of six trucks.
In addition, the Leipzig colleagues used their Grove GMK4090 mobile crane to assemble the long luffing jib. Finally, by the evening, the seven-axle crane and its jib were ready for the lift – and the next morning they were ready to go.
The completion of this project will be described next week…
