MAX Cranes Working in Remote Location

MAX Cranes was contracted by Mining and Civil Australia to assemble a Hitachi EX 2500 excavator on site at Peculiar Knob Mine Site, 90km South east of the South Australian town of Coober Pedy, north west of Port Augusta.

The job used both the GMK 5100 100t Grove with 31t of counterweight and the LTM 1130 130t Liebherr with 29.3t of counterweight which led to the undertaking of several dual lifts to complete the assembly. The heaviest of these dual lifts was the 86t complete undercarriage.

A MAX Cranes rigging supervisor was onsite at all times ensuring all lifts were completed safely and efficiently. The lift was completed over 3 days without incident.
