Mastclimbing slip closes road
28 June, 2018
A mastclimbing platform working on the façade of a tower block in Portsmouth, UK, developed a problem yesterday evening. Something caused one side of the platform to drop.
It looks as though one of the motors, brakes and or locks has failed causing one end of the platform to drop. Alternatively it is possible the opposite motor powered up when it should not have done? As far as we understand no was hurt or involved in the incident, but the local city authorities have closed the road as a precaution. The platform is working on a new 23 storey student accommodation block.
