Mammoet’s Westdorpe Opens Onsite Maintenance Facilities

Customers in Belgium and the Netherlands will now benefit from more a flexible service with newly opened onsite maintenance facilities at the Mammoet Westdorpe facility.

Previously, all maintenance requirements for Mammoet equipment were serviced by the company’s facility in Schiedam, the Netherlands, a 270 kilometer round trip away. However, with a new warehouse and team to oversee activities, regular maintenance can now be carried out onsite. Customers can benefit from greater equipment availability and a more flexible, faster service from the Westdorpe facility, which also supports the Belgian depots in Antwerp and Gent.

Maintenance can now be completed overnight, ensuring the fleet at these key locations can operate at optimal capacity, following the construction of a 37 x 29 meter maintenance hall at the Westdorpe terminal. An additional boost to the upgraded maintenance facilities are new offices that will house the teams overseeing and managing the new maintenance capabilities. The terminal itself will also benefit from the upgrades and is now even better equipped to handle loads up to 600 tons.

The upgraded Westdorpe facilities were officially opened on Friday 10 May 2019. “We are very excited about the improved service these upgrades can offer our customers,” highlights Multi-purpose Terminal Manager Marlon Roels during the opening ceremony. “Supporting our Antwerp and Gent facilities from a new central hub will transform our capabilities both here and in Belgium.” “
