Mammoet upgrades world’s largest crane
The PTC 210 DS, for test-lifting in The Netherlands, before being shipped off to Jamnagar
Date 27 September 2018
Mammoet has been awarded a contract for critical heavy lift work by Reliance at the Jamnagar Refinery, which is owned and operated by Relience at a single location in Jamnagar, India. It is currently the largest refinery in the world.
In preparation for the partial shutdown project, Mammoet had upgraded the world’s largest crane- the PTC 200 DS – to a PTC 210 DS. This is to ensure the lifts are executed as efficiently as possible. The upgrade of the crane will enable it to lift 1 2000-ton structure in one piece. This approach is much faster and will help minimize downtime of the refinery during turnaround and maintenance work.
Mammoet has a longstanding working relationship with Relience, having been involved in the construction of the Jamnagar Refinery.
