Mammoet Signs P&O Maritime Logistics to Ship Villas for Sheybarah Island Resort

P&O Maritime Logistics (POML) have secured a new contract with Mammoet supporting Red Sea Global with the construction of the Sheybarah Island Resort in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Their versatile Multi Carrying Vessels (MCVs) have started transporting 73 unique villas for the sustainable hotel development, which will champion regenerative tourism and sustainable development.

This new project demonstrates the versatility and agility their MCV’s bring to supporting POML’s customers and how “just in time” shallow draft RoRo deliveries ease the strain on supply chains.

The MCVs selected for the project were serviced in drydock facilities before the contract in order to limit their possible impact on local marine life – and their ballast systems were filled with water from the Red Sea to reduce the chance of introducing foreign organisms. Additionally, the shallow draft of MCVs and with the versatile thruster arrangement used on POML vessels mean that there will be minimal disturbance of the shallow seabed.
