Mammoet Replace 78t Stator Within Biomass Energy Generator in Spain
Lifting heavy units is hardly ever a straightforward exercise and lifting heavy units within restricted areas is where the need for customised engineering is even more important.
At Magnon Green Energy Huelva, an important biomass energy generation complex in Spain, Mammoet was contracted to replace a 78t stator which needed to be lifted, rotated 90 degrees and lowered down a shaft to a waiting truck.
For this task Mammoet’s engineers deployed a bespoke gantry equipped with stand jacks and a turntable, plus more than 10m of skid track, to lift, rotate and lower the outgoing stator on to the waiting truck for removal.
The replacement stator was installed using the reverse methodology.
