A unique transport provides relief for environmental concerns
Late last year Mammoet was brought in to lift two drums, each weighing approx. 145t, for the Model Group paper factory in Eilenburg, Germany.
Their first heavy lifts were safely performed in the port of Aken. The drums were lifted from the ship in a tandem lift with Mammoet’s Liebherr LTM 1750 and the 600t port crane.
For the second heavy lift, the Mammoet crane team drove straight on towards the paper factory where they lifted the drums off the road transport provided by Bohnet and installed them in the paper factory.
As reported earlier on Heavy Lift News, the Finnish heavy transport company Ahola Special carried out the project planning and management of the project, including the combination of road, sea and barge transport and all the additional services necessary.
