LiftWerx RotorHook™ – The World’s Most Powerful Up-Tower Crane
If LiftWerx were to round up most of their technology, and stuff it all onto a single wind turbine nacelle, this is what it would look like.
Believe it or not, if they wanted to add more cranes to this nacelle, they could!
This RotorHook™ system is the world’s most powerful up-tower crane. It might look a bit radical at first, but it has been designed to maximize ease of assembly, safety, and technician comfort. It’s simple to assemble compared to most up-tower crane systems, requiring less than two days.
This crane is mainly utilized for exchanging main bearings and pitch bearings, although it can be used for exchanging any major component, including gearboxes, generators, blades, hubs, and even yaw drives. All equipment and controls for this 80t crane can be found in the nacelle, easily accessible on comfortable technician platforms, and surrounded by railings for increased safety.
As a side note, the green lattice boom in the background of the above photograph is actually the fixed jib of one of their Liebherr tailing cranes. It is not mounted in the nacelle, but it does create a great photo, don’t you think?
If you’re still not convinced about this technology, LiftWerx would like to add that this crane is fully-booked for the next year. How many crane owners can say that?
